EG outline the "model candidate" on legalweeklaw.com

legalweeklaw.com October 2010:

“Many a lawyer has a horror story of the pushy, underprepared, incompetent or unethical recruiter. Yet many a recruiter also has a story about a legal candidate that on initial encounter is brilliant, flawless, perfectly qualified and eminently ‘placeable’, but ends up acting in a way that makes them impossible to be placed.

The process of finding a job is a lot like deal making: when it works best, it involves teamwork, information sharing, negotiations, attention to timing, deliberate conversations and patience. As with a deal, if the client is engaged in conduct that is not pushing toward a goal, a lawyer is unable to push it into the net alone. The same applies for the candidate and the recruiter.

This guide from Edwards Gibson offers some advice on how to help your recruiter help you.”
