The extra jurisdictional nature of US law (and US regulators) has, over the past five years, provided significant work streams for American law firms whose penchant to snap up corporate crime partners in London has sometimes seemed insatiable.

Whilst it is fair to say some of the recent hires are predicated on the “Field of Dreams” strategy - if they recruit a WCC partner, then work will come - the litigation team at this long-established US outfit has developed a WCC practice “bottom-up”. With existing workflow around SFO matters, a specialist is now needed to take it to the next stage.
