Head of IP/Trademark Partner – US Firm – to £950,000 plus Back to List

An intimate and profitable US law firm, which has attracted some very well-regarded city lawyers, while maintaining an attractive and slightly quirky culture, which has allowed lawyers to flourish. The firm has been in London for over 20 years, and from a relatively low profile but confident launch, the London office has grown significantly and has been at the heart of the firm's successful internationalisation.

IP has always been an important part of the firm's DNA. The trademark, brands and copyright practice in the US is a high-end practice representing some of the world's most well-known brands; ranked in the relevant directories and WTR1000. In 2020 the firm hired a leading trademark team in the US, which is doing tremendously well. The firm's entrepreneurial culture has suited them, and the integration plan has supported their team and clients. The US serviced clients generate European trademark work.

There is currently a small team of IP lawyers in London, mainly dealing with commercial, advisory and some trademark matters, but the firm would like to recruit a leading trade mark and brand protection partner to deal with the full remit of trademark work. The firm in London is set up for a trademark and enforcement practice; flexible charge out rates, trademark support in the US, an understanding of a trademark practice and the need for paralegal and specialist support and European offices. The firm is good at integrating teams and the firm pays close to the full US rate for associates, so moving a team or attracting good quality lawyers should be quite straight forward.
