This leading international, all-equity law firm is looking to recruit a mid-level partner to join its Real Estate Finance team in London.

Known for its work with lenders and borrowers on large, complex European financing transactions with a 60/40 split between advising lenders and advising debt finance providers.

The client breakdown is 30% traditional banks and 70% debt funds.

Large corporate practice and a leading investor real estate team, so the REF team regularly works on sponsor side deals for significant private equity firms.

Globally, real estate is a key sector for the firm, Edwards Gibson has just placed a leading team there in Europe and has also placed multiple leading real estate partners in London over the last 5 years.

The firm has an extensive international network which provides real opportunities for expanding offerings to a new partner’s clients, as well as for internal referrals.

Why is the team looking to recruit?

The team is stable but there has been a recent departure, creating a clear gap for a REF partner in London. With new leaders, this is now a time to implement a slightly different and more REF-focused strategy.

Current team structure

There are two REF partners and 20 REF lawyers. The firm would like to have a four partner REF team in London.

The REF team has not recruited for quite a few years at partner level.
