Edwards Gibson Partner Moves report featured in Financial Times article: ‘Paul Weiss adds top TDR Capital lawyer to London roster’

Financial Times journalist Suzi Ring notes in her article, ‘Paul Weiss adds top TDR Capital lawyer to London roster’, that 2023 saw the highest level of partner moves in the London market. The article focuses on both Paul Weiss’ recent hire of former private equity general counsel, David Holdsworth, and the firm’s rapid expansion over the past year.

She highlights that many of these moves were the result of the continued expansion of US firms in the City. To stress the strength of the London partner hiring market, Ring references Edwards Gibson’s 2023 November-December Partner Moves report. The report details the 510 partner hires that took place in London in 2023, including lateral moves as well as vertical moves and those from in-house roles; it also evidences that Kirkland & Ellis and Paul Weiss lead the hiring charge.
