July 2022: 69th Edwards Gibson Partner Moves reported in The Times

We are pleased that The Times, in its article ‘Partner transfers soar’ have cited our May-June Partner Moves and mid-year roundup.

“Boom times in the City partner transfer market as researchers report that 264 have changed law firms this year. That, said Edwards Gibson, the agency that has researched the market for 18 years, is nearly a half-year record, having been surpassed only in 2017. They point out that in that year the figure was artificially inflated by large numbers of partners being dumped onto the market after the collapse of King & Wood Mallesons.”

The article cites our observations that this boom has occurred due to a “post-Covid bounce” and also that the market is now cooling due to wider “economic headwinds”.
