Edwards Gibson featured across fourteen publications from December 2025-January 2026!

February 2026

Edwards Gibson is delighted that its market-leading data has been featured across fourteen publications since December last year!

December saw the Financial Times draw on exclusive insights from our end‑of‑year report to highlight the record‑breaking number of Partner moves across the London legal market. This was followed by further coverage in The Lawyer Horizon, City A.M., Non‑Billable and Financial News, all of which cited Edwards Gibson’s end‑of‑year data — including which firms recorded the highest levels of hiring; those experiencing the greatest attrition; and the rise of in-house moves since 2022.

The end of 2025 also saw three major Big Law merger announcements. Edwards Gibson Directors Scott Gibson and Sloane Poulton were pleased to provide commentary for Bloomberg Law, Law.com, Legal Business and The Global Legal Post, offering insight into the strategic motivations behind these tie‑ups.

Our insights also anchored wider discussions across the market: Non‑Billable used Edwards Gibson data to explore the rise of PERE and corporate real estate recruitment; Simmons & Simmons’ lateral growth trajectory; and the continued movement of partners from Latham & Watkins to Sidley Austin.

Meanwhile, Legal Business drew on Scott Gibson’s commentary to examine the expected surge in disputes hiring, highlighting the influence of litigation funding and the increase of class actions on recruitment activity.

And whilst the Financial Times cited Edwards Gibson data earlier in 2025 to comment on gender disparity in top-tier legal hiring, The Law Gazette explored this issue further, using Edwards Gibson data to highlight the disparity in female partner recruitment by practice area and within the lateral and vertical hiring activity.
